Lightning Rod Charge

I’ve heard about the new lightning rods for 1.17, and it’s a neat idea. Even though the item is made to attract lightning, I feel like there should be an effect if the rod and has gone unchecked and been struck to many times. If the rod has been struck to many times, I think it should explode or something, idk(something to deter not checking it). You can tell how close it is to exploding by how blue to light blue it is(to signify it’s electrical charge). To get rid of the charge, the person could use the electricity on redstone or destroy it and place it back down.
