To explore huge minecraft worlds, there should be mini traveling bases players can build. These can be built on platforms of special "foundation" blocks that can be controlled like a horse or boat. This would enable flying carpets, submarines, moving castles, floating sky bases, etc. Game mechanic could potentially be limited and challenging by making the special base "foundation" blocks very rare, and every "foundation" block would only support a limited amount of "weight" like 16 regular blocks connected directly, or else it won't move. A larger traveling base would require more special foundation blocks. To control the movement, player would need direct contact with the foundation block, otherwise the base is stationary. If the base makes contact with other blocks, like landscape, the total connected block amount would be exceeded, and the base would refuse to move until contact is broken. Contact with water would not count toward this total, allowing for submarines. Blocks such as chests would move with the base as long as the "weight" isn't exceeded.
Base movement would be smooth, like riding a horse, but the base would always settle to a stop at regular x,y,z coordinates so the moving blocks would always align with the overworld blocks once stopped.
