Fidelity Enchantment

The Fidelity Enchantment is an idea I have for an enchantment which returns that item to you after you die. Like Mending, you would have to get it from other places than the enchantment table. But, if an item is enchanted with Fidelity, it will teleport to the user after a few seconds / minutes after death (provided it was not destroyed, i.e. explosions or lava). It's never fun to lose items, and if they weren't destroyed upon death, then they are retrievable anyway, so why not make a late-game enchantment which returns your hard-earned gear back to you?

  so keep inventory but for tools and armor? Maybe if the enchantment was used up after a death or had a long cooldown or there was a cost for its activation by using a certain resource in your inventory or a cost or reenable that enchantment. Or if it turned into a curse enchantment after use to prevent it from being reapplied.

  Mending has a cost, and this is depending on the risks you're playing with, more valuable than mending

  You should be able to obtain the enchanted book by looting illiger mansions and looting stronghold library chests.
