Black ink sticks / soot that are usable as black ink!

I imagine if the game added ink sticks much like Sumi Ink found in East Asia, I imagine it would be fun to make and be a reliable source of black ink for use in many recipes. I imagine you could smelt spruce wood (basically pine trees which are actually used in the process) to make this black sumi ink. You could use it in a recipe to make books or anything involving black dye. It would make certain areas of servers a hub for making books, or just a slightly different way of making black dye in general.
