In terms of rarity, there are unique weapons and unique sets of armor. How come there aren't any unique artifacts? I understand that the current artifacts we have are diverse and cater to a great many different 'builds', but I still think theres a lot to be explored with artifacts. The dungeons team probably won't do anything too ambitious with artifacts (at least right now) due to the fact that they just added several new ones with the September update. I think that It'd be an interesting addition to the game, and I hope the game dev's can find a way to introduce the concept.
If you're still reading, I've come up with some quick ideas.
Since unique armor sets and weapons usually have a built in enchantment, maybe that could play into the concept of unique artifacts. For example, a unique crossbow known as 'The Slicer' has a built-in enchantment that gives it a chance to fire piercing arrows. Though this isn't consistent for every unique item in the game, a majority of them have a built in enchantment or special characteristic. I was thinking, what if you continued that same idea and carried it over to unique artifacts? The dungeons team just added a bee hive artifact that spawns bees which then follow you. What If there was an 'angry bee hive' where the bees had a swiftness/speed characteristic and they were faster than the normal bees? Or what if there was a totem of shielding variant that would deflect arrows instead of just stopping them?
