When this difficulty is selected, the games difficulty changes depending on what the game thinks it should do, going between 0 and 7, 0 of course being the easiest, and 7 being the hardest.
The game difficulty upon world generation should always be 3. Depending on how high or low this number is, mobs do more or less damage, they gain abilities, they spawn with armor more often, they spawn more frequently and more. Here are some examples.
Zombies gain the ability to break doors when the difficulty is over 5.4
Spiders can spawn with potion effects if the difficulty is over 4.7
Mobs always spawn with at least one piece of diamond armor, when the difficulty is over 6.7
On this scale, Easy difficulty is difficulty 2, Normal is 4, and Hard is 6.
There should be another difficulty called the multiplier, which goes between 0.5 and 2.5.
So, if the difficulty is at 5.5, and the multiplier is at 2, then the actual difficulty is 11.
A difficulty below 0.5 is classed as Peaceful difficulty. Also the game should only be able to change the difficulty by up 2 each day. The multiplier should always be at 1 upon world generation.
