When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

Golden sorting hoppers

A hopper that is made just like an iron hopper but has gold and an item above the chest and the hopper will only take the item it was crafted with

    Same crafting recipe but with gold instead of iron, the gold hopper UI would have two slots, one for the item you want to sort and another that can contain a stack of the item that passes through.

    Ok I know what your going for but you may have better luck rewording the description.

    potential recipe description may help:

    Iron Hopper in the middle crafting slot

    5 gold in the the shape of a V

    (To try and keep it balanced with the game) 2 redstone dusts in the bottom two  corners.

    and the item you want filtered above the iron hopper

    I see this being hard to implement though with how your wanting it to only filter with what it is made using. maybe easier to say go look at the golden Hopper mod in forge and add it. As that would be a balanced recipe and less complicated in coding since it can only filter what is in the filter slot and the rest of the slot work for overflow. Still having a way to up grad hoppers for filtering would be nice.
