This weapon would need fuel, and could control mobs, or at least their gravity.
Fuel would be quartz or other underused material
Fuel would be used in large amounts, but you could pick up players/mobs, you could throw them, or bring them towards you, or slam them into the ground after bringing them into the air a high distance.
You could aim at a phantom, and throw it into a mountain sideways for a set amount of damage.
Works like this
1 block= 5 quartz fuel
1 block= 1 heart damage multiplied each block
Similar to fall damage, just allow sideways damage in similar ways, like throwing mob wherever cursor goes.
Every block traversed in air takes 5 quartz/fuel, maybe the fuel is harder to make, or the weapon itself requires very exotic materials.
You can only move the mob so fast
Up down left right forward and back
At max speed you would do more damage
At lower speed you would do less damage
Maybe the mob can still attack you at range
If you smash 2 block mob into a 1 block gap the mob may drop it's head, if the head wasn't smashed into the wall.
Picking up a block and throwing it at an enemy would be straightforward, you choose a block, you select up/down/left/right, select forward/backward, and you launch the block at the enemy.
Dirt would do the least damage, and more exotic materials more, but you cannot throw all blocks with the same speed, hence you could dodge a block coming at you at a certain speed.
