Use Flint to Temporarily Sharpen Your Weapons

How about there was a way to temporarily sharpen your weapon without any enchantments? Flint can be used to sharpen your weapons attack damage just like in real life. How this would work is that you would hold your flint in your off hand and your sword in the other. Then you would hold right click and it would show the player sharpening their blade for 5 seconds. Sharpening your blade would upgrade the weapon damage by 0.5 and you could upgrade that again for another 5 seconds. However you can't keep on sharpening for a 100 attack damaging sword. You can only upgrade the weapon damage by 1 full damage point. How long I think the enhancement would last though is unknown. If you have any ideas for the amount of uses please let me know in the comments.

    It should be on the smithing table to make it useful throughout the game.

    I don't believe the smithing table should be used for this. The flint sharpening the sword should be on the go without having any tables being needed.

    I rather believe that the flint would serve to repair the sword. its should fix it by +10 durability.

    Then it would have infinite durability.

    It could use up the flint whenever you sharpen it.
