Let undead mobs to burn under leaves

Why undead mobs that affected by sunlight isn't burning when they are under leaves? Leaves are semi-transparent blocks, they should affected by sunlight (even if bigger part of sunlight being absorbed by leaves). I really don't think that Zombies and Skeletons can survive just being in the light of day, for example, in dark roofed forest. Undead mobs should trying to move into nearby caves.

The only reason I doubt this would happen in balancing. If the leaves burn them the that removes most of the ways they can hide and you wouldn’t have to fight them. For example skeletons use them for sniping spots.
