The Nether update left out a huge area: the lava oceans. The ONLY new thing they got was Striders. They need SO much more. Boats made from the new Nether woods are the first obvious thing, and a GLARING omission when most every other thing that can be made from wood can be made from the Nether woods. You should be able to safely cross Lava lakes and oceans in Nether wood boats.
The next obvious one is fish and fishing! The lava oceans need LOTS more life, and included should be fish you can catch with fishing poles made from the Nether woods. Besides fish there should be a variety of other new mobs of the Nether seas, to parallel the number of different types of life in the Overworld seas.
Plant life is also clearly needed.
To make all this usable and enjoyable, we will need potions and enchantments that allow us to see through lava much better so we can see all the lava life. Something that makes lava magically almost as clear as water, so that the entire world of life under the lava oceans pops into view. This should be fairly easy to get. Perhaps even eating certain lava ocean fish and/or plants -- or a certain concoction made of multiple fish *and* plant ingredients harvested from the lava ocean, or made by milking some creature with a bowl after feeding it certain things -- would keep our under-lava vision clear.
