Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Quartz Bits

Quartz is a pretty useless block in Minecraft. All it can be used for is decoration. Quartz Bits would act as the ingot for Quartz Blocks. 9 Quartz Bits could be crafted out of 1 Quartz Block, and it would also work vice versa. It would be interesting to have a set of Quartz tools and armor.

The fact that Quartz is useless is so true, but a new set of quartz crafted armor and tools is just not going to happen, we have to find other uses for it.

According to Wikipedia:

Quartz is used for coatings and floors, to make scientific optical devices but also to create the bulbs of halogen lamps. A very common but often ignored use is that quartz is reduced to very fine sand and used as a raw material to make glass.
