I'd like to suggest a new potion effect that shows you possible spawn locations for hostile mobs. This spawn detection would ignore sky light levels, and show magical particle effects above blocks with block light level 7 or less.
The recipe could be brewing a honeycomb, in order to give the honeycomb item a use other than making decorative blocks or making beehives to get more honeycomb.
The base duration would be 3 minutes, extended with redstone is 8 minutes, and cannot be enhanced with glowstone.
The reason I want this is because I need to make sure there are no blocks where hostile mobs can spawn while I build my base or a village. I can only do this by using the debug menu to painstakingly keep track of the light level of each individual block.
If I had a potion with this effect, it would be a lot less stressful and faster to build my base since I could immediately see which areas were too dark instead of needing to use the immersion-breaking and intrusive debug menu. It would also greatly incentivize beekeeping if the recipe used a honeycomb.
It would also give brewing a use for builders, since the current brew effects are only useful for combat and exploration.
Thank you for reading and I hope you will consider my suggestion.
