Silverfish Eye

New Item: Silverfish Eye

Has no applicable use to any block or furniture and cannot be eaten or brewed.

However, holding it in your hand causes Creepers to become docile and follows you around, like cows and sheep when you hold wheat.

Silverfish Eyes can be fed to a Creeper. When fed, the Creeper has a 10% chance of exploding harmlessly, and will explode into loads of EXP. The Creeper gives more EXP if you feed it more Silverfish Eye (just don't run out or the Creeper will become hostile again).

Silverfish have a 10% chance of dropping Silverfish Eye when killed. In addition, cats become hostile to Silverfish when they are near and Silverfish will run away from cats. If a cat kills a Silverfish, it has a 50% chance of dropping a Silverfish Eye.

Silverfish Eye is to be hoarded and used for recovering from death and losing EXP or for squeezing out a few more levels needed for enchanting. Perhaps Silverfish are more likely to spawn in caves where you die?

  I like the idea of a silverfish eye, but I would have gone in a very different direction.  Hold it in your hand and you can see what blocks have silverfish in them...
  
  And your FOV gets screwed with a little bit while you are holding it so you don't just constantly hold it, and for the (silver)fish eye pun.
  
  For controlling creepers I think you need something more rare.  How about two levels of powers against creepers... creeper head + nether star makes them completely ignore you under normal circumstances.  Charged Creeper Head + nether star and they won't agro on anyone near you and you can even kill them.
