Currently, your health regenerates quickly until you run out of saturation, and completely stops regenerating when you reach 17 hunger points.
I think the healing system needs a little change.
My idea for a new healing system: Just like in modern day Java Edition, your health regenerates quickly (1 heart of health every second) when you have 20 hunger points and some saturation, but 1 saturation point should be consumed to heal 1 health. So a golden carrot with 14.4 saturation points would be able to heal 7 hearts of health over 7 seconds just on saturation. When you have between 14 and 20 hunger points, your health keeps regenerating at 1 health per second. Healing one heart of health should consume one hunger point. When you have between 6 and 14 hunger points, health regenerates at 1 health every 2 seconds and just like before, healing one heart consumes a full hunger point. If you go below 6 hunger points though, health completely stops regenerating.
So, the less hunger you have, the slower your health regenerates, as an indication that you should consider eating. I feel like this change would make it easier to survive, especially for newer players who are still learning.
In case of you are wondering, this change will make it possible (with 20 hunger and saturation points) to heal 24 hearts of health. When you spawn in a new world (which gives you 5 saturation points) You can still heal 16.5 hearts of damage.
