I think it’d be cool if normal bows could be enchanted with Quick Charge or a new, similar enchantment, behaving similarly to Quick Charge on crossbows. It will make it so you charge the bow faster, allowing you to fire a fully-charged shot sooner, maybe at the cost of a bit of damage (or maybe not; whichever would be best).
It could come in 3 power levels, Level 1 making it a bit faster, Level 2 making it even faster, and Level 3 making it decently fast (but still not close to rapid fire machine-bow levels).
With cheats turned on or when using custom stuff like datapacks, however, you could make the enchantment level even higher, having the ability to make your bow a “machine” bow, like in earlier versions of Minecraft pre-Beta 1.8 (spam-click rapid-fire arrows). This could be really fun to use in minigames and just silly worlds, with the normal enchantment still being cool in survival :)
It may not be entirely balanced, of course, so maybe make it a rare enchant, or maybe make it incompatible with other strong enchants. The current enchants are already pretty strong together, so I’m not sure, but I can imagine this enchant, for example, making the Ender Dragon a cake walk when combined with others if it doesn’t nerf damage, and making opponents in survival PvP have a hard time. It could be fine, though, if the bow speed stays at just a decent/good level at normal (non-cheats) max level, but maybe it shouldn’t be compatible with Infinity normally, at least; not sure.
