    yeah it is way too easy to enchant full netherite before the dragon fight and literally be invincible with Protection 4, however the changes on the upcoming combat update may change pvp vs mobs including the Ender dragon a lot harder, since there will be much more skill needed to fight and deal the most critical attacks to the dragon and to kill it faster.

    I love the idea of acid as a fluid! Definitely should be able to pick it up afterwards in a bucket! Great idea in general

    I also think the fight should be improved.  I feel like the real issue is its physical attack when it touches you though.  It can launch you high enough to one shot you, and if it wasn't for slow falling potions, which came later, it would be an even more frustrating.  They can tone it down while still having considering enough knockback to for slow falling potions or  water buckets to be useful.  Then the difficulty  won't be so reliant on that and the actual attacks can be tweaked.

    Instead of simply inflicting pain, Dragon's Fire could create purple fire which teleports you around as well as hurts you

    I agree in fact the wither is probably stronger than the ender dragon I died like 6 times against the wither and only once against the ender dragon, the wither also has 100 more health than the ender dragon and its attack are so much harder to avoid than the ender dragons attacks, the ender dragon fireballs simply create a cloud of dragon breathe with hurts you while the withers attack inflicts you with the wither effect with cannot be avoided like the dragons breath can, the wither can also summon wither skeletons to help it out, so I think that the ender dragon should be stronger than it currently is, like I feel like a giant dragon should be stronger than a three headed floating black skeleton not the other way around.

    let's the battle simple, but still making it challenging.

    i was thinking making the dragon actively protect the End Crystals (its only way of healing itself). it'd also make use if its acid breath and Dragon Fireballs for temporary terrain denial (if you plan on building your way up the pillars). i'd also have it perch on a smaller pillar, and shoot 3 Dragon Fireballs before taking off again. and i agree on making it land so it can bite you. i'd also add the tail as a melee attack.

    and lastly, it'd actively try to kill you; no more circling, no more shooting 1 Dragon Fireball and then back to circling. my idea of an improved Ender Dragon fight, on top of what i've said, would be actively attacking you.
