I heard you liked beacons. I heard you liked Armor. So guess what? I PUT A BEACON IN YOUR ARMOR
Have you already worn out your netherite armor? Looking for a way to get status effects outside of beacon range? well this is the post for you my friend! Introducing Netherite Infusion...
To infuse netherite you must first find a gem, i don't have any ideas for the names but for this example i'll use a topaz.
Now these gems are rarer than netherite at about a 50% chance of finding one in any chunk and are found deep underground.
Once you have your desired piece of netherite armor and your desired gem you will infuse it at a smithing table to get that infused armor (for example a topaz-infused chestplate) the armor will look much like netherite but it is slightly tinted in the color of the base gem, (for our topaz example that would mean it's tinted yellow)
Once you have your full set of Infused armor you will gain effects depending on the gem (for our topaz example that might mean speed or haste) all other stats stay the same unless you take off a piece of armor, in that case you will lose the effect just like if you went out of beacon range
A couple gem ideas are:
Topaz (haste)
Ruby (strength)
Aquamarine (water breathing or night vision)
Opal (Regen)
Sapphire (speed)
Citrine (fire resisance)
Zircon (Health Boost)
In multiplayer only the wearer get the effects
All of the new gems will not get destroyed but TNT so blast mining is still an option!
Edit: fixed up some grammatical errors
