Remove Rabbit Meat

It a kids game... now what minecraft i dunno. When i saw that rabbit meat existed, my heart sunk. YOU should never encourage kids to eat rabbits. The problem is that some younger kids who play minecraft that are under 10, which could encourage them to eat rabbits in real life. We cant change what people can do in real life, but we can control what they are encouraged to do. The problem is that rabbits feet are used to make potions of leaping, however the ingredient can be changed. I am absolutely DISGUSTED about how people make rabbit farms and breed them, just to immediately kill them to eat one of many foods and make them bounce higher?? I think that in the end Minecraft has been marketed as a kids game, but doesn’t match up to the requirements of having a kids game. Mojang please discuss this with the community as i will actually get furious is rabbit meat and rabbits foot are not removed

    Rabbit is a real food.  It's no different than killing a cow and eating steak or using the leather.  If your kid wants to have jump boost without killing a rabbit then they could make a beacon.  How you play is up to you.  You could be vegan in the game if you want.  Honestly, more animals should be made into food sources.  Turtle stew is a thing.  Some cultures eat bats, cats, bugs, and dogs.  Bear meat is a thing.  And even though dolphin is not typically a food source, desperate times can call for desperate measures.  Why don't we have these?  It's because some of these animals are protected species.  Rabbits are not protected, but are in fact an animal that becomes over populated quickly.  Just like deer or turkey it is sometimes important to diminish the population so the rest can thrive.

    I'm sorry that killing rabbits for food upsets you.  I'm curious why killing anything else doesn't upset you just as much, after all you get mutton from horses, but I can pretty much guarantee that rabbits as food will not be removed from the game.

    Alright. I get it. Rabbit Food is in real life, but ive heard people eat steak and porkchop in real life. And use leather. One of my main concerns with this is that the texture of rabbits in minecraft look like cute little bunnies that kids see in the park. Ive heard the poem

    “Roses are red, so is raw steak, its a block game, for god sake”. That is true, but the 10+ rating is not enforced. I hope this explains why this has 4 follows and 1 upvote (me)

     

    Also, Mojang said they dont support animal cruelty and dont want to promote it, thats the main reason i made this post. Watch ibxtoycat’s video on it

    This game has zombies and skeletons, and you are worried about killing a passive mob for food being inappropriate for the game’s audience?

    No kid under 12 is going to go try and eat a rabbit because they played this game, just like they are not likely to go out and slay a cow or chicken or eat rotten flesh. What about killing and enslaving villagers? That is detestable. If killing bunnies is too much for a kid, then the parent needs to take the game away until they are an appropriate age.

    Hey, I get it. I am a rabbit lover and have had house rabbits my whole life. But really, killing cartoon creatures is the same no matter if it is a cat, chicken, cow or bunny. There is fantasy violence. If it hurts your feelings then maybe this isn’t the game for you.

    Sharks were removed because they could not be implemented in a way safe for sharks or humans. Rabbits are not (always) endangered species. It is perfectly normal.
