As we all waiting for the cave update to come someday, I’ve been thinking about a new, kinda annoying but - imo - fun feature that should come to minecraft, and that is cracking cave ceilings. I have this fear at a mine that if I lose the wooden pillars or the planks that hold the upper stones, the whole ceiling could crack and come down. So I think if a cave update ever comes to light, maybe, just maybe this can be a fun feature. But how can it work? Well, I guess simple stone blocks could react (a.k.a. crack, yes, like when you punch it with your hands) if two conditions occur: If there’s a minimum 2 block tall void (air) under it, and there’s at least 2 blocks of gravel above it. This process can be stopped if you place at least 1 block under it in a 3 blocks radius. And how it could be a fun thing, and not an annoying feature to have? Well, just imagine the traps you can create this way, and of course, with higher risk, comes higher fortune. So you could find increased ore veins nearby, but beware, the farther you go down, the faster it gets for the ceiling to collapse!
