The world border is great for map makers and game designers who want to restrict the playable area in a map over time. However, a circular shape is often a better fit, either because the map itself is circular or a circle makes more sense for the gamemode. I believe creators of games like UHC and Survival Games would appreciate having a circular world border available.
The command to control the shape of the world border could look like this: /worldborder shape <square|circle>. The default shape of the world border would still be a square. When the world border is a circle, its size would then correspond to the diameter of the circle. Everything else about the world border would behave as expected.
