I've been developing gaming-related software for a few years now, and my current wip venture is looking to be able to authenticate minecraft users without having to directly receive and communicate a users password, or login to a specific server and type in a code. Current methods are just way too sloppy and hacky.
Implementing oAuth2 as a method for third parties to authenticate users would provide a massive benefit to the growth of both Java and Bedrock editions of the game.
