Enemies get harder the deeper you get underground

When you get deeper in the caves, enemies get stronger gear, faster movements, and maybe even potion effects. You might even find charged creepers.

    I really like this idea. They should look differently too and they should have maybe glowing red eyes and different color scheme. Creepers could look more dark green with red eyes. Skeletons could have a jawless face and bigger eye sockets. Zombies could appear more rotted. Spiders could have spikes or hair and slightly larger, as well as having noticeable fangs.

    This will make deep caving more dangerous but more exciting and rewarding.

    It would be great an increase of challenge as you go bellow Y=0. I dont know about faster mobs, potion effects, change in skins or charged creepers, its a bit too much, but better gear is a good idea

    I think having zombies much more likely having shovels and pickaxes underground would be decent increase for their power and would absolutely make sense, but could have more likely also sword/spear
    mobs could also have more likely armor
    more likely enchanted equipment, more likely being made of ores found in layer
    charged creepers spawning very rarely, maybe some lesser charged creepers those would be more powerful than regular creepers but not as much as actual charged creepers, given how hard would be to deal with those in many caves
    possibly underground illager groups, it is strongly implied illagers reached ancient cities, so some illager groups roaming caves should be possible, could be new type of illagers or just existing illagers equipped with pickaxes instead of axes
    mob extra gear increase should occur relatively deep, at about deepslate layers

    making mobs more geared up underground would give players more challenge to roam caves deeper but also reason to fight those mobs there, more mobs with pickaxes could also serve as other last resort for getting new tools underground when old tools get broken or lost without need to craft them
