I believe there are 2 problems here. 1. Shaders are unofficial, do the only way to add them is hacking. 2. Even if they were official, they are VERY taxing on the system, so this would result in several crashes given how powerful the switch is.

Love the idea, but it would be too laggy i think

If I can use shaders on my measley phone edition of minecraft, and I can not use shaders on a system designed for gaming then there must be some real issues with minecraft for the switch :(.

Yes this would be amazing but as PinkYoshiFan said they are unofficial but if the switch gets upgraded in the future maybe we can have RTX for switch or come out with a new version of minecraft for switch

Other people are saying "shaders would be too much" and stuff like that, here is my thought on that...

    1. Shaders would be very low quality

    2. there would be a setting

    3. this could possibly be a setting for all of Minecraft bedrock too.

If you’ve joined someone on mobile or pc with shaders through the switch you would know that the switch can use shaders, especially because shaders aren’t complicated enough to start lagging the switch out.

unless the shaders were extremely intense i dont think it would have too big of a negative impact

I think that the shader should be just powerfull enough to look at builds and stuff, but shouldn't run near laggy areas such as entity heavy farms.

I've joined a friend's world and my Nintendo crashed. this may be a problem, but as I see this is just even more complicated for the Minecraft team. shaders would be a great option since it could either be a recourse pack, setting, or even additional content. though I feel worried since regular lazy phones can use a simple mod while the Nintendo Switch doesn't take 1 bug normally and would rather crash. I think the shaders should be added and yet at the same time don't since this could be hard for the Minecraft team.

Shaders should really be in minecraft because I’ve watched so many different YouTubers use them it makes the game look so much better

They’re are already games on the switch with shaders. I just don’t understand why shaders for Minecraft isn’t available.

I think shaders should be added to Nintendo switch, here's my suggestion.
    1. You have a setting in which you can put your shaders, from low quality high quality.
    2. For those saying it would be laggy, I have five mods on my phone, all running one world, hasn't crashed once. If I can run that on I'm easily pixel 3, you can run that on a Nintendo switch.
    3. not only what the game looked prettier, but with the new cave updates coming out it would make it feel much more powerful.

    YESSSS
Even if it would be laggy, it's not like people who cant stand lag have to have a shader pack
It would just be an amazing little addition

Shaders have to be added so it benefits mojang and us because if shaders are added = more people wanting to play and better experience for us players

I agree the only way so Nintendo switch can use shaders is by a mobile or windows 10 player invite a Nintendo switch player to a world the mobile or windows 10 player must have a bedrock shader download and active and then it must set the option of of the other player to accept the resource pack to join the world and then the Nintendo switch player must join the world and accept the resource pack and that’s how you can use shaders on Nintendo switch but it’s possible that the game crashes the pending on the shader it my possible not crash if the mobile or windows 10 player uses a low end shader or a console shader.

YES I NEED THIS PLZ ADD IT MU GUYS. I would like to have this come through but without doing the windows 10 and mobile thing because that makes it difficult and some people don't have friends with shaders on both of those devices and there not gonna risk getting a virus and we don't have to shaders free but at least make a water one free with the lighting or something like that so that way you have free to play players and you can make money as well as making a colab with nintendo to ask if it is ok to do that and let me tell you there's going to be a lot of people that but shaders for switch so to "persuade" them to let you do this while giving them a bit of the profit (because a lot of people are going to bye it) it might help idk I just don't want to deal with doing the whole mobile/windows 10 thing sry for wasting your time and thank you for "maybe" considering this.

It makes me kind of confused that only PC players get shaders, mods, and the updates before us. So I vote Yes on shaders for the Nintendo Switch. Plus Minecraft Dungeons!

We should get a wide selection of mods, add ons, shaders

This would be stupid because it would mess up your game and would be very laggy not gonna lie

People, your phone is a very stripped down version of Minecraft. It probably runs at 720p-1080p at 30fps and most shaders are very bad on mobile. Switch, however, is meant for gaming, but is also very small in its capabilities. I highly doubt they would add shaders to Switch as they are both unofficial and way too heavy on devices. Even some mid-range PCs can’t handle shaders...

If the lighting and textures worked for breath of the wild, it would work with shaders. And that was a few years ago.
