Diamond Dust

There are currently only two types of dust in Minecraft: Redstone and Glowstone. What if we had a third dust, diamond dust? Diamond dust would be crafted using not a crafting table, but an anvil. Put a diamond in the first box, nothing in the second box, and in the third box will be 1 diamond dust. If you put eight diamond dust surrounding, in a crafting table, anything that you can wear but not get enchantments on (Elytra in this example). If you put eight dust around an Elytra, you could get Glittering Elytra, which when combined with a protection book, will create Protection I-IV Glittering Elytra that has armor points. Same goes for, say, a creeper head. To balance this power out, would would only get half the points that the diamond helmet/chestplate/leggings/boots would give. It is a balanced system that will benefit the players of Minecraft by giving them more protection from normally unprotective wearables.

    I think that when hitting any armor and shield covered with diamond dust, the weapon will break and dull much faster.
