In all honesty, seeing the lack of mobs In the nether update In comparison to 1.13's amount of tropical fish somewhat disappointed me. (not that I want 2,560 new types of ghasts, just at least 5 exclusive mobs per biome.) and even though striders are fun to play with, they aren't as cute as the slime (no offense, they're still cool.)
So what If there were two types of a new neutral mob that striders fear? Today I Introduce: The rushroom, specially the crimson and warped rushroom.
The rushroom Is a small, sentient mushroom with a cute face on the stalk and has small, adorable square footsies that allow them to run around, guarding the forests from axes that hack, much like you. When not attacking, they produce high pitched gurgles and squeals, with an awe-bringing w shaped smile and two beady eyes.
They'd attack by rushing toward you and jumping upward, before crashing Into you. The warped variation run a zig-zag pattern while the crimson rushroom chases you. You could tell which Is which by the color of their caps, which resemble their respective home's vegatation. They'd have 20 HP and would drop 2-5 fungi and have a 15% to drop a spore. you can plant a spore In soul soil to get a rushroom of your own, which make them pretty unique to other nether mobs.
