Netherite is cool and all, but very underpowered. After taking a long time to mine just one, having the tiniest veins, mining 4 just to convert 1 item into netherite with only having more durability for the main advantage, but for when you can have just unbreaking and mending anyways, that's not really enough of a reward. Netherite Armor doesn't even give more protection. I think netherite armor should have fire protection 1 by default. It would make much more sense. Also, enchanting it with more fire protection would work on the lowest enchanting level as well. The tools aren't much of an upgrade, the diamond ones by itself are about instant mine for most blocks already, then definitely with efficiency. Plus, the tools and weapons have a more expensive diamond to netherite ratio, which makes sense for either the netherite sword to do a little bit more damage, or keep its 8 damage after the new combat update, because if it does turn out that all other swords lose 1 damage, netherite should be the prize after all its effort. The tools should have an exclusive enchantment. It's an opportunity to have a netherite exclusive auto-smelting enchantment. And this would not be mutually exclusive with fortune. At least for iron and gold ore, wood for more charcoal, etc. This gives a great reason to actually go mining again instead of building an iron farm so quickly. There needs to be something special about the new highest tier, otherwise, the only reason to upgrade is for flexing.
