Soul Speed NEEDS to be fixed

 

 

Hey, the name’s Richard, and I like Minecraft. Like Really like it. (for reference I play on bedrock console edition) I have recently acquired soul speed I on my main pair of boots. (neatherite w/ top tier enchants including unbreaking III and mending) I have also just built this REALLY long soul sand Highway that goes on for Hundreds of blocks. At first, I thought it would be fun to run around on the soul sand all fast and whatnot. I knew about the whole durability drawback and whatnot, but I didn’t think much of it. but then soon realized that there was an issue..

  You see after every trip back and fourth, my boots would be at almost Half durability. And every time that happened, i would have to make a trip to my mob grinder and go up several levels before my boots would be fully mended and being able to go back to what I was doing. Ive done this process Several times, and I’ve only had the enchantment for Less than a DAY! Ive heard somewhere that the devs are thinking of maybe depleting the Players hunger bar instead of the Boot’s durability, and if thats true I would be absolutely fine with that change, as hunger is not that big of an issue as having to instead repair my boots dozens of times a day.

  Look, all I’m saying is that this enchantment should be fixed as soon as possible, otherwise it will neather be used by anyone except for maybe some Pro-Minecraft youtuber who has too many Soul Speed boots and/or books to know what to do with. Mojang Studios, Save Our Souls!!

    OMG I DO HOPE THAT THEY WILL CHANGE IT TO HUNGER I HATE LOSING DURABILITY

    I hope they would just change it to nothing. I was thinking it wouldn't be that bad because thorns isn't too bad - it doesn't really deplete the armor that much. However, you're right, soul speed is hardly even useable. I've got a big field of nether wart and I've had to mend my boots 3 times so far grinding out growing and harvesting it.

    And, I don't think it should be changed so that hunger is depleted because then - where's the enchant getting it's power from, you're food supply?

    I would say since the character is running then change it so that hunger is depleted at the same level that it is for running but only if the character is running.

    I don’t think it should deplete hunger, I just think Mojang should slow down the durability decrease for boots with Soul Speed.

    The new Spear's lunge uses hunger, Soul Speed needs to follow suit.
