I think a new liquid in the Nether could solve a number of problems and create numerous hazards.
This liquid is called Gloom. Its name combines "glue" and "sadness". It is a slow moving grey goop that is found in small puddles in the Soulsand Valley; possibly 3 blocks deep. It slows swim speed, and halves the time it takes to drown. It flows only 4 blocks away from a source and very slowly; one block every 40 ticks. You cannot create an infinite source.
It could be used to hydrate Nether Farmland, and to generate Crying Obsidian and Blackstone. It could be used to do the following:
- It can hydrate farmland in a 1-block ring.
- Gloom interacts with Lava to create Crying Obsidian, Blackstone, or Glowstone. If Lava hits a Gloom source, the Gloom source turns to Crying Obsidian; If both touch each other while flowing, Blackstone is made and no sources are removed; And if Gloom hits a Lava source, the entire Gloom flow including the source become Glowstone and the Lava is unaffected (this is pretty powerful, feel free to suggest alternatives in the comments).
- Gloom interacts with Water to create Ice, Glass, or Clay. If Gloom hits a Water source, the Water source turns to Ice; If both touch each other while flowing, Glass is made and no sources are removed; And if Water hits a Gloom source, the Gloom source becomes Clay.
Upvote for visibility if you think this is worth seeing! I'm not confident on all the interactions. Let me know if you can think of any way to improve this.
