Named items never despawning

Named items should never despawn naturally, just like mobs. This could make an incentive for naming things, besides just having it be cool. Because this could cause lag on multiplayer servers, this would be a gamerule.

/gamerule namedItemDespawn true/false

These items would still be vulnerable to cacti or lava unless the item happens to be netherite.

    Seriously wish they would do something like this.

    Items just "disappearing" magically after 5 minutes is awful game design, granted I know the current dev team didn't add this themselves, but they've neglected to do anything about it for years.
