Anyway, what if netherite tools and armor had stages of progression, so when you first upgrade to it from diamond its weaker, more like iron, but it still doesn’t burn in lava. The extra things on the armor, like the spartan bit that frames the head aren’t there. The enchantment glimmer is obnoxious.
Then to go to the next tier of netherite, you add another ingot into the smithing table.
As you go to the max teir, four levels in from diamond, the extra bits are added, knockback resistance is added, the stats are way more increased to how much they are currently, and it slightly loses the enchanted glint, so it looks more charcoal grey with a slight purple hue at the edges.
If this was implemented, especially on bedrock edition, it would make the increased ancient debris rates more balances because you would need 16 ancient debris to fully upgrade a single item.
