I was just about to post the same thing!

Inventory should be 9 Slots like a dispenser or dropper. Allowable items should be books, Enchanted Books, Book & Quill, Written Books, paper, maps, locator maps, and treasure/explorer maps.

You can put enchanted books in it and book n quills and maybe paper. Also you should be able to craft bookshelves with no books(empty bookshelves) or bookcases that aren’t interactive but are just regular bookshelf blocks.

The books you place in the bookshelves around your enchanting table affect your enchanting results. If you have a single Unbreaking I enchanted book in a single bookshelf next to your enchanting table, it increases your chances of getting the Unbreaking enchantment on your next item by a percentage, increasing with each similar enchanted book in the surrounding bookshelves. Plain books in every bookshelf, vanilla results from enchanting. Unbreaking enchanted book in every bookshelf (max of 20), 20% increased chance of Unbreaking enchant on next item, OR 20% increased chance of next level Unbreaking enchant on next item.

At the very least, bookshelves as storage for books and enchanted books would be fantastic!  Thumbs up
