Chainmail plates

I'm thinking of adding chainmail plates, I see people saying chains should be used for chainmail but I don't think that would be that logical, im thinking that using these plates (crafted with 2 chains 2 iron nuggets) could be used instead to craft chainmail. I feel that putting them in blacksmith chests, dungeon chests, and maybe stronghold chests would make chainmail easily accessible and a better choice. You could also use them to make metal fencing (4 plates 2 iron) and metal fence gates (4 iron 2 plates). i think these would all be cool additions to minecraft and if placeable, could make factory builds better
