It'd be great if a client could cache the chunks received from a server. This way a client could still render chunks out to the set render distance even if that's greater than the chunks sent from the server.
This would help with many of the bugs/problems reported with the limited view with multiplayer and for realms.
Players wouldn't see updates for those things in the distance or for exploring new terrain, but at least for moving around previously explored terrain within the world, it'd provide better immersion within the world.
By having a larger cache on the client as well, in the future more optimizations could be made to have less data sent to clients for updates.
