The idea of a basalt furnace makes sense. With the melting point being 1450 C (2642 F) meaning it can withstand mass amounts of heat. You could have it smelt things %25-%50 faster than regular furnaces while taking up 2 coal instead of one! Maybe put two fuel slots at the bottom where the regular fuel slot is! You could also have it smelt 2 things at a regular pace if you wanted to. Im thinking the crafting recipe would have to be the same as a regular furnace but with basalt. The Basalt furnaces could also get broken after a bit of use to encourage players to go into the basalt deltas and find the materials needed to keep making more. I was also thinking that instead of using coal at the bottom of the Basalt furnace you could put one soul campfire (as it is a nether block along with the basalt) instead of coal! Lava could also work as a fuel source as its from the nether too! Thanks you for listening to my idea! -Chase
