I agree, I have played in the nether for hours and hours and many different seeds. The truth is, I have never found a nether fortress in survival but found multiple bastions.

I have collectively spent a whole day on trying to find a nether fortress. I gave up and went to the internet to find out if it was just my seed or what. Turns out they changed it's rarity! What the heck! I even changed to creative cause I gave up completely and I search 10,000 -20,000 blocks and found nothing. I'm so frustrated I plan to put down minecraft and just stick to beat saber till they fix this. I don't want to even play mc anymore. I can't do anything without a nether fortress. If netherwart was spread throughout the nether and blazes too then maybe I wouldn't give up mc but that's not the case. This change needs to happen.

I agree especially with adding blaze rods to piglin trades (FOR ALL THOSE SPEEDRUNNERS OUT THERE!!) I also have had an especially hard time as I was excited for the nether due to 1.16, but it literally took 4-5 DAYS (REAL LIFE DAYS) and I still could not find one, and instead of making the nether more of a go-to place it was the worst place and it made the nether boring again, and I had to delete my world. (yes I did have naturally generating structures on, I checked.)

let pigling or map villager to sell tresure map of the fortress. as of now one year later, nothing has been done and its not fun in neither if you get a bad seed. cutting off huge chunk of content away from players because RNG. my friends got bored and stopped playing.

Definitely agree. It would be nice if there was some amount of minimum luck with every seed. For instance, you shouldn't be able to spawn in the ocean without any islands, spawns should have trees near, and likewise the distance of nether fortresses from 0, 0 should never be so far away. Sometimes, actually quite often they can be over 800 blocks away. That's great for people who don't actually want to win as there's more novelty when you discover a fortress, but I think a lot of the features of the new nether cater towards novelty and should be more catered towards practicality. So many people love the new nether purely due to aesthetics, and it makes me wonder how often those people are in the nether. Sure, the nether is hell by definition, but in a videogame, one that was originally peaceful and building oriented, I think the nether doesn't have to take the idea of hell so literally. And, searching forever to find a fortress is the peak of that hell. Really should be fixed ASAP.

Nether is a dangerous place, find nether fortress during hours is extremly frustrating, specially in hardcore. Even when you found them they are so far away that is not woth it return.

I like this idea, but I also like the idea of adding a map to Piglin bartering tables, which I actually just suggested in my own post. Either way, I feel that Fortresses are too few and far between currently, at least on Bedrock. I can't speak to Java's structure populations, although I've heard they may be better.

Personally, I have found 8 Bastions (a useless feature as far as I can tell), and 0 fortresses. I'm on PS4 so I cannot respawn the Nether itself, and starting a whole new world might yield the same results. This Nether update is frustrating enough it kills any fun the game has. It's just tedious and infuriating, especially since this is all for blaze rods, which are only ever found in the now super-rare fortress, yet are required for potion crafting and eye of enders. This is just bad game design to render a necessary item only obtainable at a randomly spawned location that may never be found.

I definitely agree. Today was my fifth try at beating the game in hardcore world (in the 1.17 version) and it has always taken me 1.3-2 hours to find a nether fortress despite me playing Minecraft since beta. As much as I love this game, the nether fortress being as rare as it is, frustrates me allot and makes me want to take a three week break from trying to beat it in hc.

Agreed! Finding these structures have proven to be far more difficult than before.

I had to use a seed searcher for my survival world because the nether fortresses were just too far, and the nether is easy to get lost in, Maybe smaller fortresses scattered about? Such as an outpost for whoever lived in the fortress, with spare nether wart and some blaze to guard it? Maybe a new mob (Like the dolphin) would lead you to a fortress?

1st -Searching for this fortress kills my FPS. I have to set the distance to max and it melts my hardware!

2nd -The spawning of these fortresses is not well done. To have them spawn mainly to the positive X is a bad idea since the overworld corresponds with where you end up in the nether. So bases set up in the far west will never see a fortress after months of searching.

3rd -Every base needs a blaze/wort at the current rarity settings.

I'd just like to see less fortresses spawning inside netherack. We need more exposed fortresses.

Yes this is needed. I could have a great world but as soon as I get to the nether usually I'm in a basalt and when I go to copy the world and have a look in creative the fortress is tens of thousands of blocks away in the overworld
