Local games to have save version history

I only play with my brother split screen on a local game. We have no access to xbox live gold. It would be nice to select a previous save. Few times our save game has been corrupted and lost months/years of work, if had last few historical saves would only lose past day/week. Some games have the autosave slot and actual save slots for games.
