I think having new minor gameplay mechanic with Achievements related to it would be cool.
Falling damage could be a interesting feature and achievements could make use of it and could possibly make PvP interesting as long as its fair, or you implement Minecraft logic by having them only deal small damage.
Examples of scenarios:
Falling on top of Ghast(w/Achievement)
Falling on top the Ender dragon(w/ Achievement even Possible How to Train your Dragons reference).
Killing enemies by landing on them or hitting them mid-air after getting launched by TNT( w/ achievement, possible tf2 reference/market gardening).
Jumping on top of live Slime to bounce or Cushion from falls(with achievements except baby ones, you crush them.)
and Stomping on all mobs gives a Achievement (Mario Reference) and etc.
I think this could be cool minor feature, unless you include Falling (increasing projectile speed or sword damage), or change how falling work
