For some time, it seems that Mojang keeps trying to find ways to remove or limit mob/item farms in the game. Maybe, removing farms it's not the answer, instead make them less necessary creating a way to collect resources quicker, or making an upgraded furnace that multiplies ores, like those machine mods. This would reduce the grind for iron, gold, diamonds that almost every player seems to avoid, creating farms to have unlimited resources to help with their bigger projects. With every update, Minecraft introduces new items, ways to use those resources but never introduce a way to collect them easier, making the demand for these items increase a lot almost forcing players to create farms to supply the necessary items. The current grind for resources is getting more and more unviable with each update and Minecraft could have a way to help with this grind. This new way to multiply or collect ores easier should be endgame for balancing reasons, which would create a brand new reason and excitement for players to finish the game and would help with the farms problem, by supplying players with more resources for their projects and making farms more and more optional. I personally don't like to create farms with every new world I create, but if I want resources (iron, gold, arrows, gunpowder, experience) farms is almost a must have, unless someone wants to grind for hours and hours grinding for them, and with the current ways the game offers this resources, it gets boring fast.
