We need more uses for the smithing table

I like the idea of upgrading gear inside of a smithing table, but why should it be just limited to diamond gear? I request that you add more uses like the diamond to netherite upgrade such as:

Piece of leather armor + 1 iron ingot = studded leather [name of armor piece]

Piece of iron armor + 1 diamond = diamond lined iron [name of armor piece]

An iron tool + 1 diamond = diamond tipped iron [name of tool]

I also saw a post about upgrading gold gear with lapis to increase the enchantability.
