Another use for rock like materials

Alright, so I was thinking for a new use for granite, andesite, diorite, cobble, stone, etc. This use would be for the building community.

 

In survival I often find myself breaking glass when building large objects (houses and sorts). But the thing is, is that it takes a lot of time, so I was thinking that we (players) could use objects such as, cobble, stone, andesite, granite, diorite, end stone, obsidian, all concrete types, and all the other harder materials to break glass a lot quicker. Though, this is more of a saving time idea, I feel as if this would come in handy when building stuff that includes lots of glass. Also, it would make building a lot more fun considering how long it takes when you decide you want to change the design of a building. 

 

p.s. It would be awesome if you could put silk touch on these harder materials.

    I think it would be good if glass broke in an area of effect when you use stone.

    Using a thrown projectile of some sort to break glass in an area of effect (or all glass connected to the block that is struck)
