Lapis Lazuli as a Gold Gear Upgrade

Just like you can upgrade diamond gear with Netherite, you could be able to upgrade gold gear with Lapis Lazuli.

By doing so, it would be guaranteed for the item to get good enchantments (some higher than the current enchantment limits, maybe), however, you wouldn't be able to transfer those to other items (they would be bound to the Lazuli embedded item).

This would add a brand new use for Lapis Lazuli, a second use for the smithing table, and the player would make the player choose: "do I want stronger gear or do I want amazing enchantments?"

The counter balance to the enchantments would be the gold itself, as it's not very durable. Please tell me what you think in the comments!

    Alright, this is a cool idea, but I would like to ask this.
    You described the armor as “lazuli embedded”. Does this mean that the gold armor gets a visual change?

    Yes, in my head I thought something similar to dyed Leather armor (the brown patches would be lapis, and the dyed gold) or something closer to Pharaoh clothing (stripes and dots of lapis in patterns)

    My question is: what would be the point of making Gold Items even more enchantable? Gold already has the highest enchantability out of all the items.
