Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Banner Changes

In Minecraft, the banner is an underused item. Even though they look cool, they don't serve any purpose beside decoration. My idea is to make banners like mini beacons.

To do this you would have to combine a banner with one obsidian. You would then choose any potion effect (helpful or even harmful) which the banner would give off in a 10 block radius. The banner would have a small obsidian stand which would make it immune to explosions.

Not only would this be great for vanilla, but it would also give minigame creators more options in games like Capture the Flag.

Because of the 10 block radius, it wouldn't be too OP, and you would need a piece of obsidian to craft it with.

    Banners acually have a use besides Decoration. If you rename them before you place them down and than right-click with a map, containing the Area where it is standing in, on it the Banner will appear, with Name, on the map.

    The map marker banner feature is Java exclusive, sadly. Really wish they'd just iron out the differences in features...
