I agree, the game is amazing but when you reached the end, except polishing your stuff to the max you don't really have anything to do.
Maybe you could unlock it after the main campaign? It should have a cool name, like Bottomless Mines.

I think this would be cool, but what about playing with unknown players? This mode would be perfect for online matchmaking and I think devs haven't reflect enough about that. Other games of the same style can do that, so why Minecraft Dungeons can't?
I would like to add to your idea something like this:
What if, after beating the final boss in predetermined difficulty, you unlock endless mode? The endless mode would be a physical instance you can travel, it could be called "The Infinitower" or "The NeverEnd" (Ascending or descending rooms). Each time you get into a deeper or higher floor (depending on the infinitower or the neverend) the loot gets better, the more difficult it gets...
Also, the pool of obtainable items could be randomized each time you enter this "endless mode".
This could be the infinitower
And the NeverEnd would just be Islands in the End Dimension. Or the structures that spawn in it, you would get into the next by throwing an enderpearl (Just an animation or a phase to the next part)
Endless dungeon: The Dark Crypt (Team up with unknown allies and brave the unseen depths)
Random player Matchmaking?Maybe they could stick together random rooms from all the main missions which you play through and they indeed get harder and harder with of course better loot and more exp the further you get.
Exclusive rewards for this mode would give reason to play it as well, with higher waves dropping higher tier loot to incentivise playing and challenging yourself to get to wave 100 for example. Achievements as well would help this.
You could also split this idea into two for more content: a true horde mode in an arena with increasing difficulty of enemies, with something you need to defend, like a bunch of villagers in the middle, and an endless dungeon that you keep moving forward into increasingly difficult enemies until you die, with each of the game's bosses sprinkled in randomly to add more challenge. There's no end to either, but each provide different and unique challenges.
This would be great! Similar to the game Gauntlet.
One of my favorite things about dungeons crawlers of past and present was the practically endless dungeons with levels upon levels to explore, hence the coined name "dungeon crawlers". I would love to see something like that added into the game. It would make the end game a lot more fun than it is now.
The End Dimension with endless waves of mobs
I agree with this, the game desperately needs an endgame mode such as mapping in path of exile or rifts from diablo 3.
This could also be a part of the game where there could be a real element of risk/reward. Increased rewards as you go, and you could choose to leave at the end of every wave, but if you start a wave and fail, you lose everything you gained along the way. If you wanted to go further with the risk/reward there could be a cost to get in or to play each harder level, which may be emeralds or it could be pieces of gear that you only keep if you survive.
I think creepy crypt kinda fits the description, though it's not actually endless. I have a feeling that all maps without any of the landmark rooms can become endless and that would be a great addition.
Yeah, and it would be a good opportunity to add many more items and mobs or bosses/minibosses to the game, and if this gets added they should make it a randomized map theme like it can be jungle themed etc
What about a mode that is unto all missions that let's you play that mission forever. But then the bosses and other objective have to be not anavailable. The mode can be main storyline or endless mode.
This should be marked as announced. A free endless play mode was revealed in the article: https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/flames-nether-and-free-update-coming-minecraft-dungeons
