yes, you should be able to make the rooms and maybe order them instead of the AI.

That would be a great idea, and would fit well on both computers and consoles. This idea would be the beginning of the creativity on Dungeons.

This is a great idea that will greatly increase replay ability for the game. Once you beat the game on all modes, there is not much left to do besides wait for the DLC's. This would keep players playing long after they beat the game

Before the game launched, I was astonished that there was no level editor. For me, this is a large detractor.

The best way for them to set up a level editor would likely be a system where you unlock new blocks with each level. I imagine the tools would be more similar to the Hammer Editor than Minecraft, where there'd be ways of dragging out large boxes of randomized textures and blending materials.

Also: a custom level workshop similar to Steam would be desirable and add a great deal to the game. This would also work really well with the ability to pair custom textures and other assets with maps.

There's so much potential here, I'm surprised Mojang hasn't done this already.

It could have a thing like Mario Maker IDs so you can play other people's dungeons right?

Given the lack of official ones right now, this makes the most sense for the future

It shouldn't be limited to what is seen in the game, maybe you could have a mob that doesn't exist in Minecraft dungeons for it (Illusioners, Giants, The Killer Rabbit, ender mites, foxes, piglins, etc.) and maybe completely new mobs as well! maybe it could have a nether theme, a dark forest theme, the arch illagers castle theme, the list goes on. I love this idea, I really hope Mojang see's it.

Doing this might just keep the game playable for more time longer like Minecraft is still playable today

As an avid content creator and level designer, I would be all over this.

You should add a difficulty setting too, like is the level hard or not, or just be automatic idk

This reminds me of Doom 2016's Snapmap mode, which was criminally underrated. I hope this happens.

The true spirit of minecraft is building after all.

With that I would also like to suggest a option to style out our own camp/city I think it would be a great addition to gameplay. It would make value of replaying the game even more fun. Transfer game achievements into rewards that we can place. Give us "building material" as additional rewards we can get from playing the game. The buildings could have a meaning too. Like there could be buildings like farms that would give us daily doze of emeralds, blacksmith with daily random item, lumber and mine that would hourly give us building materials and church that would give us a random artifact or statue of iron golem that would give us a golem follower and so on. Maybe even make so you can upgrade this buildings so we will get more out of it.

As from gameplay perspective, it would just give us something more than just playing over and over and over just to get better items. And with placeable elements the game would be opened to different gamemodes.

Some QOL that could get along:

    • place for arrow restock
    • place for souls refill
    • arena where you could spawn mobs and fight them to test new gear.

It reminds me the game Mighty Quest for an Epic Loot from Ubisoft. It was really cool to build our own dungeon and seeing other players dying in it.

We had to play and accomplish our own dungeon to validate it. If we don't, the game considered it as too difficult so the dungeon becomes "unplayable" until it was rebuild correctly

Yeah, possibly you would get to make rooms for the dungeons (Like how the dungeons are already generated) Of different room styles like hallways, treasure rooms, different sized rooms, trap rooms, boss rooms, just basically a bunch of different room styles that you create and the AI puts them together like on the vanilla ones. Great idea!

Maybe complex things can be done on pc ( the coding for new mobs) and the building for new dungeons with exiisting mobs and secrets and cool stuff can be dodne on all platforms

If you put the arch illager and the nameless one in the same room they should attack each other.

    Edit:

In the game it states the Arch Illager wants The Necromancers (The Nameless One) necromancing staff to raise undead army's, so it would make sense for the Arch Illager to attack him and because they could only exist together in this mode it would make sense.

This sounds like a very fun and creative idea going along with what seems to have been termed “the Minecraft spirit”. However if implemented it should be in a separate game mode called “custom games” or something like that were no loot or exp can be gained. There is way to much room for abuse if these custom levels were treated the same as the official content.

That's a big NO for me.

People could make one dungeon with zero or one ennemy and 50 chests.

    Would kinda ruin the grind.

Even a limited number of chests wouldn't do, since you can place them all at the start of the level then quit and do again.

@Moonbox leaf there could still be rules like, there can be a chest if only X monsters spawns or for community maps just a chest on the end of the map. Or they could just make it so the community maps don't give anything you will probably play it because you want new different levels.. Also you would need to download every community made level so at the end, if you do not like it you do not need to download it.

I do know that minecraft has a lot of building and minecraft is basically building, mining, crafting and exploring. But i do feel that this will ruin the dungeon crawler game. As said minecraft is mostly building but a dungeon crawler game is about grinding, exploring, getting better and so on. But a dungeon crawler game with building dungeons would maybe not be the best idea!

    This is just my opinion

I would love to have a way to be able to build a level in minecraft and then transfer it over to dungeons.

Seeing the post stating that this would break the main game by letting you spam chests and drops, just make it a creative mode separate from the story mode.  I like the idea of being a dungeon master and trying to thwart heroes...

I don't think building block by block would actually happen due to MCD uses Unreal rather than, well, the Minecraft engine. But building room by room would still be possible. However, i kinda don't think it would happen, and that probably won't be an issue anyway. Minecraft is half about building and half about exploring, so having a spin-off that's 100% exploring sounds fair, and that seems to be the way due to the way the game reveals its contents.

You should have to make a level challenging, though, because somebody could just make a level with 100 obsidian chests to run through and get max loot.
