Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Gneiss, a building block tougher than cobblestone

Since cobblestone isn't very hard to get, but it's powerful in survival builds, I think it's time we introduce a block to outmatch the cobble. Gneiss generates deep underground below Y=10, and can only be obtained with only a stone pickax or stronger. Gneiss has 10 Blast Resistance and 4 Hardness, as opposed to cobble's 6 Blast Resistance and 2 Hardness. Gneiss can also be crafted into walls, slabs, and stairs, making it a good building block for more blast-proof bases.

Of course, with the introduction of this block, End Stone may also need to be buffed a bit, but I don't think it would be too much of a problem.

    The reason everyone uses cobble is because they have to mine it anyway. You would dig to y=12 and not ever have to interact with this.
