What if Minecraft had a greater overall flow to its major objectives throughout the game? Imagine that the goal of reaching the Ender Dragon was a much more challenging and potentially rewarding process by having to go to different boss areas to get the keys to access the End.
Here's my idea:
One day you're mining down below the surface and you see some Endermites worming through the stone (similar to silverfish). You defend yourself but some surviving Endermites begin to escape. You follow in the direction that they escape to and you and find yourself at the entrance of an End Stronghold. The stronghold is filled with things that hearken back to a kingdom of old. Mobs have infested the halls of the stronghold, but eventually you find yourself at a portal, but the portal is not active! As written in a lectern nearby you must recover keys from the different realms in the universe order to enter the End Kingdom.
- Players must collect End Keys to enter The End Kingdom
- The Keys would be gathered from places such as Ocean Monuments; Woodland Mansions; Desert Temples; Jungle Temples; Nether Fortresses
- Each of these places would be guarded like current Ocean Monuments, and you would have to fight a boss that took away your ability to break blocks while in their lair.
- Once you beat the boss you would receive some awesome loot as well as an End Key
- The End Keys in addition to some Eyes of Ender would allow you to enter the End.
