Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

What players with silk touch pickaxes are running around making stone tools and are so inconvenienced by this that they wish they could make them with regular stone?

Cobble Stone tools work just fine. But if you're going through the trouble of making stone in a furnace then the resulting tool should have more durability to reflect the hardness imbued by the heat. A Cobble Stone tool should have the same durability as it has now, 131, and the new stone tool should have a durability of 250. This would make it the same durability as current iron tools, so the iron would need an upgrade as well. Given that iron is rare compared to stone, getting more use out of it is something I think everyone could agree is a good thing. If the iron tools had a durability of 500 that would solve the issue, make it worth using iron tools for mass excavation and close the gap between iron and diamond (currently 250 and 1561 respectively).

    More material is good idea.

I think it would be good if this applied to crafting stuff like furnaces and dispensers, since players who always use silk touch will probably find themselves crafting those items much more often than stone tools.
