Just a small idea I had while talking about Minecraft
What if the water in a waterlogged hitbox could freeze? Then we could have half slab windows of ice, and quarter block windows from stairs. The system would work like this. Just like every other block of water, it would freeze over and appear like ice. The differences, is that it would only share the hitbox of the frozen area. If you destroyed the area with ice on it, the water would return just like regular ice. If you destroyed the block and not the ice, the entire block hitbox would become water and drop the item used for waterlogging. the ice-logged area would work the exact same way as regular ice.
It would also allow for you to freeze a chest inside an ice block. I think this specific feature is what is the best out of everything possible, given that this would allow for you to stop people from getting into your loot, and also help against creeper explosions. As mentioned before, it would also allow for smaller windows where mobs could not see through.
As with all Minecraft suggestions, I feel that it has to somehow enhance the player's excitement to wonder and be creative, and thus I'd like to add that it would also make ice-based maps a whole lot cooler. Imagine seeing giant glaciers made of quarts and ice, or an inn with frozen roof. Or a better bridge system with ice on the top of slabs, or something cool like that!
