Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

This would be so cool for building, and you can see something similar in Minecraft: Dungeons. We've got snow layers, why not dirt, sand, and gravel?

They could naturally spawn and also spawn during SAND AND MUD STORMS.

Dirt, grass_block, sand and gravel. These are the only blocks that I think would need it. As a builder and terraformer it would be amazing to have that and be able to do even more beautiful things.
I just rewatched the 2020 archaeology trailer, and already in that trailer you could see the blocks mentioned having "break down" phases in layers.

And to make these blocks even more incredible, it would be great to have plants like flowers, grasses... Etc could be placed on any layer.

One layer of gravel may have the decoration function in forests (rarely) and sand can be created by sandstorms in desert (when storms in other places). Mud layers i dont see any function.
